Brent crude moves every day. Most moves don't matter to your household budget. We filter the noise and only alert you when the oil price has moved enough to meaningfully change your annual fuel, energy or grocery costs.
A weekly digest of where oil prices are and what they mean for your household. Plus an immediate alert when Brent moves more than $5/barrel in a week -- the threshold where your annual costs change by more than $50.
Enter your email below. We'll send you a personalised weekly oil price summary and an immediate alert whenever prices move significantly. No spam, no sales pitch -- just the number that matters for your budget.
Most oil price sites show you a chart of Brent crude. That's useful context but it doesn't answer the question that actually matters: how much is this costing me? A $5 rise in Brent means something very different depending on whether you drive 20,000 miles a year or 5,000, whether you heat with gas or electricity, whether you live in the US (low fuel taxes) or the Netherlands (high taxes, high gas heating exposure).
MyCrisisCost translates the Brent price into your personalised household cost. The alert service takes that one step further: we alert you when the movement is large enough to materially change your annual budget, not just when the number ticks up or down by $1.
We monitor Brent crude daily. An alert is sent when: (1) Brent moves more than $5/barrel in a 7-day period, (2) a specific geopolitical event occurs that is likely to affect prices within 48-72 hours (e.g. an OPEC+ emergency meeting, a Hormuz incident), or (3) your pre-set threshold price is reached if you've customised your alert level in the calculator.
